These rivers are particularly beautiful during sakura bloom times.

Within 30 minutes walk from Genji Kyoto are major attractions including Gion, Pontocho, Nishiki Market, Shijo shopping, the National Museum cluster of temples, Kyoto Station and the scenic surrounds of Kiyomizudera and Higashiyama.  Accessing the rest of the city is easy, with 2 Keihan Line train stations within 6 minutes’ walk, the Karasuma Subway line about 10 minutes away, and buses and taxis nearby.  We invite you to use our hand-drawn maps specially designed to help you discover the hidden gems of Kyoto!
