We want to provide the most flexible and comfortable dining experience for our guests. From breakfast to evening drinks and snacks, savoury dishes can be enjoyed in our atmospheric Genji Lounge, in the comfort of guestrooms, or on our rooftop Sky Forest Garden with panoramic views.
Our menu consists of soul-lifting Japanese and international dishes made with seasonal ingredients. Breakfasts are all freshly cooked and include Continental, Western and Japanese sets as well as a la carte dishes with vegetarian choices. See our Food Menu, Drinks Menu, and Chef's Special Menu.
For all-day dining we have small plates, simple hearty fare and tempting desserts. Juicy burger, heart-warming donburi bowl, Ukifune appetizer plate, or Uji matcha trio?
Our Genji Lounge logo, lobby and gardens all pay tribute to the Ukifune (drifting boat) chapter in the Tale of Genji. The novel's metaphor for the untethered evanescence of human experience is represented in our Ukifune Garden by a boat-like stone carrying a patch of moss. In our lobby, we have swing-back Genji Sofas, Ukifune Sofa sets, Genji Bar Stools and a centerpiece Tachibana Table, all inspired by motifs in the novel and handmade by Kyoto craftsmen.
The ambience of our double-height lobby is enhanced by semi-translucent silver-embedded Echizen washi windows that allow for utsuroi, or dynamic play of natural and interior light. Ceiling lamps made of Mino washi paper with traditional patterns are used together with Andon floor lamps for a warm Japanese ambience.
Whether sitting in the lobby by our serene courtyard garden, or taking in the views on our rooftop garden, or simply relaxing in the room, what better complement than a drink in hand with delectable morsels made from the freshest ingredients of the day.
Breakfast is served from 07:00 to 09:30 (last order), followed by all day dining from 11:00 to 21:00 (last order).
All orders can be served to our guests as room service, in Genji Lounge, or in Sky Forest Garden on the 5/F, weather permitting. As seats are limited, please make reservations to ensure we can serve you at your preferred time and location. You can also dial 0 for making reservations and orders throughout the day.
We welcome friends of our staying guests and may also accept dining or drinks reservations from the public from time to time. But our priority is always our staying guests, and we reserve the right to decline bookings from non-staying guests under certain circumstances.
